Anna Hronová

She has played guitar since the age of six and studied under Iraklis Karasaridis, also learning piano and harp. Between 1993 and 1999 she studied guitar at the Pardubice Conservatory in the class of Prof. Petr Saidl. While a student, she was awarded the first prize and the title of laureate at the International Guitar Biennial in Kutná Hora (1998), the third prize at the International Guitar Competition Anna Amalia in Weimar (1999), and a special prize at the International Guitar Competition Forum Gitarre Wien in 2001 for the best interpretation of a composition by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. 

She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock, Germany, in the class of Prof. Thomas Offermann, graduating with both pedagogical (2003) and concert (2006) diplomas with honours. She has since made television and radio recordings for NDR 3 Hamburg and Radio 3 Hamburg. 

Since 2003 she has been teaching at the Pardubice Conservatory. In 2006 she has become the organising director of the Guitar Biennial Kutná Hora. She performs in the Czech Republic and abroad and together with her husband Jan Hron (guitar) she recorded the CD with the title "Cantique" in 2009. 

She is regularly invited as jury member to national and international competitions. Since academic year 2021/22 she has been teaching guitar and chamber music at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
